MEDIUM TOURS
“Estorrengada” is the word used for landslide.
This is a short and hard walk, since it consists in a 500 meter ascension. The starting point will be the entrance of the cave of Pozalagua and the finish line will be in the top of the karst, which means that we will go through rocks.
We will enjoy the most impressive natural lookout of the Natural Park of Armañon in company of vultures and other birds. We will also visit an ancient deposit of dolomite.
We will return to the starting point after another ascension, shorter but equally exigent, descending through the first ramp.

2 - HOYA
An “Hoya” is a woodpile covered by soil used to obtain coal.
From the neighbourhood of Pando and going upstream the Las Escaleras river we will ascend through pine woods, reaching the old path that the charcoal makers used to transport the wood from the beechwood.
Apart from enjoying the magic and the fresh air of the beechwoods, we will witness the traces of the main human activity in these forests. Leaving the beech forest, we enjoy wonderful views of the valley in the summer pastures of horses and cows.
We return to the starting point the same way we started, through pines and some hundred-year-old chestnut tree.

3 - CHORRETÓN
A “chorretón” is a small waterfall.
We will depart from La Buitrera, a midden through which the Council feeds a colony of local vultures. Then, we go down an ancient hut where shepherds used to shelter from the bad weather conditions.
We will go over the middle part of Sierra Mesada, penetrating pines and beeches to ascend to the lookout of La Brena, where we will take a break.
Finally, we will return to the starting point through the most charming part of the route, a beechwood crossed by several waterfalls where we will enjoy the peace of these woods.
